Description

Menamu is a relaxed-fit raglan pullover with an easy-to-memorise stitch pattern. Its two-colour texture and solid raglan lines give the timeless construction a fresh, modern look. The sweater is intentionally roomy through the body and shoulders, while the generous sleeves offer complete freedom of movement. Fitted cuffs keep them comfortably secure and out of the way.

Designer Natascha Tulloch first used the stitch pattern in a blanket for her children, who loved squeezing the fabric and said it felt like ramen. This inspired her to create a cosy sweater that feels as comforting as a hot bowl of soup on a crisp autumn day. Menamu is worked seamlessly from the top down, making it an enjoyable and approachable project.

This knitting kit includes the yarn needed to make your own Menamu sweater in your chosen colourway:

The sample sweater is knitted in Golden Amber as the main colour and Whispering Petal as the contrasting colour. Simply select your size and colour combination to receive the correct amount of yarn. Refer to the Details tab for guidance on choosing the right size for your kit.

Please note: the knitting pattern is not included in this kit. You can find the Menamu pattern in Laine Magazine Issue 30, available separately.

Natascha chose two warm tones with medium contrast for an autumnal palate. The stitch pattern blends the yarns, similar to a marl, so high or low contrast colours work equally well.
The wide sleeves with a cinched cuff give ease of movement without getting in the way
This roomy raglan pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down. The solid colour raglan lines flow perfectly from the ribbing into the yoke — a subtle detail that gives the sweater a polished look.

“I’m constantly thinking about how a garment inter acts with the body, how it moves, and how structure and form work together. That perspective influences everything from construction to fit, making a garment practical, comfortable, and easy to wear in real life.
