One book cannot capture the full essence of East Helsinki — its neighbourhoods, nature and endless diversity — but perhaps this can be the beginning of a new story.
East Helsinki is a diverse and vibrant area; a home to people from many different ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Here, one can see the full spectrum of life — both its beauty and its hardships.
The orange-red metro carries those living in East Helsinki easily into the city centre — but just as quickly brings them back home. The metro is a place where several of my knitting projects gain new rounds or rows and stitches.
