One Size
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Width (measured with the balaclava lying flat): 8.5" / 22 cm.
Height: 13.25" / 34 cm.
MATERIALS
YARN: 3 balls of Børstet Alpakka by Sandnes Garn (96% alpaca, 4% polyester, 120 yds / 110 m – 50 m), colourway 8532.
If you decide to use another yarn, you will need approx. 310 yds / 284 m of bulky weight yarn.
The balaclava is worked holding the yarn double.
Note! Even though Børstet Alpakka is categorised as a bulky weight yarn, it is rather light and airy. Should you wish to substitute it, try to find a similar yarn, i.e. Fashion Light Luxury by Rico Design, Luxair by Schulana or Painted Suri by Araucania. If using a different kind of yarn, swatching is highly recommended. Also note that this may affect the yardage.
Needles: US 6 / 4 mm 16–24" / 40–60 cm for the ribbing that frames the face and US 10.5 / 6.5 mm, 16–24" / 40–60 cm.
Notions: Stitch marker.
GAUGE
12 sts x 12 rnds to 4" / 10 cm on US 10.5 / 6.5 mm needles in Fisherman's Rib after blocking.
