Description

Featured in the Laine Anniversary Issue, the Cadence sweater by Marie Régnier draws inspiration from the rhythmic grids of Modernist architecture, where repetition creates structure and balance. Its boxy V-neck silhouette and European shoulder construction are complemented by cables, ribbing and a Latvian braid, bringing subtle variations in rhythm and a quiet, tactile sense of harmony.

The sweater is knitted in Laine x Novita DK.

This knitting kit includes the yarn required to knit Cadence in your chosen colourway. Simply select your size to receive the correct amount of yarn. Please refer to the Sizing tab for guidance on choosing your size.

Please note: The knitting pattern is not included in this kit. It is available in the Laine Anniversary Issue, sold separately.

The sweater is worked from the top down, beginning with the back, mostly in a cable stitch pattern. After the front and backs are joined, the body is worked in the round to the desired length.
The name Cadence reflects the rhythmic stitch pattern.
The shoulders and neckline feature a Latvian braid detail. When working the braids, remember to maintain an even tension, as the braid naturally tightens the fabric.

“My design approach is rooted in structure. I particularly enjoy cable knitting, and while I love soft neutrals, I am increasingly drawn to bold, primary colours.”
