Tiina Huhtaniemi and Erika Appelström

Tiina Huhtaniemi is the owner of Tukuwool, the founder of the beloved yarn shop Titityy, and the creative force behind the much-loved Knit Festival in Jyväskylä, Finland. She’s done pioneering work with Finnish wool through Tukuwool, learning every step of the journey from fibre to finished yarn. Her passion isn’t just for the product, but for the makers who bring it to life — especially the knitters who give the yarn its final form and meaning.

Tiina’s work and distinct voice in the world of craft haven’t gone unnoticed. She was named Entrepreneur of the Year in the Jyväskylä region in 2022, awarded the title Craft Personality of the Year at the Taito Gala in 2023, and recognised as Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Central Finland that same year.

Erika Appelström is a designer by training, but a maker by instinct. With a background in industrial clothing design, she draws inspiration from surprising colour combinations and the unexpected proportions that make a knit truly compelling.

The former brand director of the iconic yarn company Novita and editor-in-chief of Novita magazine is now working as an entrepreneur under her creative studio And Sundays. She splits her time between multi-channel branding projects and the world of knitting — collaborating with names like Tukuwool and Beloved Patterns magazine.
