Moorberry Vest Knitting Pattern
Moorberry Vest Knitting Pattern
Moorberry is a relaxed, elegant vest knitting pattern with a deep V-neck and a fabulous drape, designed for effortless layering or standing boldly on its own. This handmade knitwear project brings together modern style and timeless simplicity.
The idea was born from the rich, berry-toned hue that kept catching my eye on long afternoons in Paris, sitting on a terrace with a book in hand, watching the world go by. There was something about the mood – effortless, feminine, slightly mysterious – that I wanted to capture in stitches and into a contemporary knitting pattern.
Knitted mostly seamlessly from the top down, Moorberry features a European shoulder construction that offers both structure and fluidity. The intuitive shaping and modern silhouette make it an enjoyable knitwear project for a wide range of skill levels.
The fabric is brought to life with a luxurious pairing: the smooth bounce of Laine x Novita 4ply wool held together with the airy softness of Novita Edith Silk Mohair. The result is a soft, lightweight knit vest that feels as good as it looks: soft, light and full of quiet confidence.
Whether worn over a crisp blouse, a simple tee, or on its own, Moorberry is a versatile layering vest – easy to wear, yet never ordinary.
