Description

The Mosspath cardigan knitting pattern is a true wardrobe staple: a piece you can wear anywhere and everywhere, from casual everyday moments to more formal occasions. This design brings together timeless style and thoughtful construction in a modern handmade knitwear project.

The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down, featuring a contemporary European shoulder construction and a shallow V-neckline. The button band is finished with a neat double-knitting technique, giving the garment a clean, polished edge that holds its shape beautifully. The construction offers both structure and ease, making it an enjoyable project for intermediate and advanced knitters.

The starting point for this design was the yarn itself: Laine x Novita DK, developed in collaboration with West Yorkshire Spinners. Its beautiful drape, clear stitch definition, and tactile feel allow even simple stockinette to stand out, making it ideal for modern knitwear.

The colour is equally distinctive — a soft blend of moss and olive green that reflects the natural world, from forest floors to Mediterranean landscapes. The result is a nature-inspired cardigan that feels both grounded and refined.

MATERIALS
Yarn: 4 (5, 5, 6, 7) (7, 7, 8, 9) skeins of Laine x Novita DK by Novita (70% Falkland Wool, 15% Bluefaced Leicester, 15% Bluefaced Kerry Hill, 246 yds / 225 m – 100 g), colourway: 3410 Earthy Olive. Alternatively, you can use approx. 970 (1070, 1225, 1390, 1480) (1615, 1695, 1825, 2015) yds / 890 (980, 1120, 1270, 1355) (1480, 1550, 1670, 1845) m of any similar DK-weight yarn with comparable yardage.

Needles: US 6 / 4 mm circular needles for ribbing, US 7 / 4.5 mm needles for the double-knitted buttonband and US 9 / 5.5 mm circular needles for stockinette stitch.
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle, 3 buttons.

GAUGE
21 sts x 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on US 9 / 5.5 mm needles, after blocking.

Laine Publishing is not responsible for any additional customs clearance charges. Customs policies vary widely between countries, so please contact your local customs office for further information.

Once packages leave Finland, they become the responsibility of your national postal service or courier company. We can provide tracking and customs information upon request.

We are legally required to declare all international purchases as merchandise with their full value. We cannot mark items as gifts or declare a lower value than the purchase price.
