Knitters for Ukraine

The last weeks have been incredibly hard. A mix of many emotions, such as sadness, fear, anger and hopelessness. Knitting has once again been a way for us to cope with the situation, to let our minds rest and find peace if only for a brief moment.

 We have created a fundraiser under the Finnish Red Cross with the name “Knitters for Ukraine”. The Red Cross provides aid to people in need on both sides of the Contact Line. These efforts provide aid for people’s basic needs, such as water, food, shelter and healthcare services. It also helps to find missing people. The International Red Cross has been present nearby the combat area for nearly eight years of conflict. The Finnish Red Cross, too, has had years of experience in providing aid to Ukraine.

This is our chance to show the power of the international craft community and raise funds for Ukraine and the many people affected by this war. We encourage anyone able to donate – every penny counts.

This war is not somewhere far, it affects all of us.
