Description

The first issue of Laine Magazine was published in 2016, and this year marks Laine’s 10th anniversary! Our special bookazine, Laine Anniversary Issue, features 23 knitwear patterns from international designers — designers who have contributed to Laine's journey over the last ten years. The bookazine is a celebration of Laine’s beloved Nordic aesthetics as well as contemporary knitwear design. Some patterns are fresh takes on classic Laine designs, others incorporate elements from the designers’ previous patterns for Laine, while the rest capture the spirit of Laine Magazine in their style.

Designers featured in this issue: Fiona Alice, Alma Bali, Aleks Byrd, Rachel Brockman, Weichien Chan, Maxim Cyr, Dee Hardwicke, Jonna Helin, Susanna Kaartinen, Bernice Lim, Justyna Lorkowska, Sari Nordlund, Marie Régnier, Tiia Reho, Camille Romano, Lis Smith, Orlane Sucche, Lene Tøsti, Maaike van Geijn, Sylvia Watts-Cherry and Julia Wilkens.

Note! We also have yarn kits available for some of the Anniversary Issue patterns.

In this issue, some designers revisit their most beloved Laine patterns, creating new and unique versions of them. For example, Fiona Alice’s Järvimaa cardigan is a fresh take on her Lakeland sweater, originally published in Issue 4, and Sari Nordlund’s Poet skirt features the same lace pattern as her Poet sweater from Issue 6!
Sweaters, cardigans and vests — the patterns most loved by knitters — take centre stage in this issue, but it also features a few stunning accessory patterns, such as the delicate Caprifolium shawl by Lene Tøsti, as well as the Pinaceae Hat by Rachel Brockman (a nod to her Pinaceae sweater from Issue 9).
The knits are worked in a variety of techniques, from lace and cables to intarsia and stranded colourwork, as well as simple stockinette stitch. Aleks Byrd’s Pael vest showcases Estonian knitting techniques, such as the Roosimine Estonian Inlay, while Dee Hardwicke’s Wild Rose slipover incorporates intricate stitching on the knitted fabric.

“I’m very proud to be part of the anniversary issue. For me, Laine feels like a beautiful book rather than a magazine — its slow-living storytelling, fabulous print design and thoughtful styling resonate with me.”

— Knitwear designer Justyna Lorkowska

I purchased this EDITION directly from you

I purchased this EDITION directly from you and then received a FedEx bill for a tariff that was due $20 which made this volume more expensive than any book I have purchased so far. From now on, I will visit my local Yarn stores or try to source it here in the United States and not buy directly from you. That was not only shocking but very disappointing. This was not the first time.

Not a knitter but makes a great gift!

I am not a knitter but purchased the magazine as a birthday gift for my daughter who does knit. She loves Laine publications especially the "52" series and will be surprised by the ten year anniversary magazine edition.
The projects in it are beautiful (I picked out a couple I love!), and the quality of the publication makes it a worthy addition to her bookshelf collection.

Terrific magazine/book!!!

Good range of patterns, many of which I want to knit. Wonderful photography, interesting text, pattern writing seems professional and reliable. I love this magazine! (But the samples featured a lot of brown, beige, greige...Looked perfect with the scenery in the shots, but I began to feel colour-starved...I live in Canada and see a lot of winter neutrals and get hungry for colour.)

The Laine Anniversay Issue is gorgeous

The Laine Anniversay Issue is gorgeous. I cannot stop buying these books, as they are so beautifully photographed, and the patterns are so easy to follow.
The only problem I have with these books is, which project do I start first?!
