Scarborough Sweater Knitting Kit
Featured in the Laine Anniversary Issue, the Scarborough sweater by Jonna Helin is a relaxed turtleneck designed for effortless everyday wear – a cosy, timeless piece you can reach for again and again.
Worked seamlessly from the top down, Scarborough features a classic raglan construction and a cosy turtleneck collar. The fit is relaxed and comfortable, while the overall look remains timeless and understated.
Despite its cosy appearance, Scarborough is surprisingly light. The airy, drapey fabric is created by working at a loose gauge with one strand of Laine x Novita 4ply held together with two differently coloured strands of Novita Edith Silk Mohair throughout.
Laine x Novita 4ply is made from a beautiful blend of Falkland wool, Bluefaced Leicester and Bluefaced Kerry Hill and spun with care in West Yorkshire, England. Paired with the soft, airy silk mohair, the three strands create a beautiful marled effect with depth, subtle colour variation and a gentle halo.
Colour plays an essential role in the design, inviting you to experiment with different combinations and make the sweater truly your own.
The sample sweater is knitted with Pine Forest (Laine x Novita 4ply), held together with Grove and Poet (Novita Edith Silk Mohair).
